Veltkamp Named American Offensive Player of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Following a standout performance in the Florida Atlantic football team's 38-30 win over RV Navy, graduate QB Caden Veltkamp was named the American Conference's Offensive Player of the League, announced by the league on Monday.
The Owls (1-1, 1-0) won their first game of American play in 2026 and achieved their first victory over the Midshipmen (1-1, 0-1) in program history. Veltkamp led the charge for Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley's Owl Raid offense, completing 27 of his 32 pass attempts for 386 yards and five touchdowns.
His five touchdowns tie the single-game program record, while his 84% completion rate is second-best in a game, while the 386 yards are now fifth all-time in program history.
After two weeks, Veltkamp currently leads the nation in completions per game (30.5) and the conference in completion percentage (72.6%) as well as passing touchdowns (six).
This marks Florida Atlantic's first Offensive Player of the Week honor from the American since Daniel Richardson in October of 2023.
