Florida Atlantic Participates in CFP Extra Yard for Teachers

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic football took part in the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers initiative on Thursday afternoon, honoring educators that make an impact on their local community.
Vice President and Director of Athletics Josh McCowan as well as Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley visited A.D. Henderson University School, where they presented a check for Ella Pilliterri, the school's Teacher of the Year. Her son Avery accepted on her behalf.
Students gathered for the presentation of the award, which will go toward funding of classroom resources.
The Owls' upcoming Shula Bowl XXIV matchup against FIU on Saturday will also mark Educators' Appreciation Day. Kickoff is at 6 p.m., airing on ESPN+.
