Veltkamp a Manning Star of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic football's graduate QB Caden Veltkamp has been named one of eight Manning Award Stars of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.
The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, names eight quarterbacks as a "star" each week, with fans able to vote for the top performance via social media (@ManningAward).
Veltkamp earned a spot after going 27-for-32 with 386 yards and a school-tying record of five touchdown passes to lead the Owls to a 38-30 victory over RV Navy. This marks his third weekly honor, also being named the American Conference's Offensive Player of the Week and being recognized as part of the Davey O'Brien Great 8.
The Bowling Green, Ky. native is firmly on the radar of the annual Manning Award, with Veltkamp being selected to the preseason watch list in August. The yearly honor is given to the top signal caller in the nation.
