BOCA RATON, Fla. – Fresh off a standout performance at North Texas, Florida Atlantic football's graduate QB Caden Veltkamp was named the Shriner Children's East-West Bowl "Monday Morning Quarterback."
The Shriner Bowl shines a weekly spotlight on an all-star game eligible quarterback that displayed the most NFL traits that week. Veltkamp earned the honor after leading all FBS quarterbacks with 452 passing yards during the week while tying a Florida Atlantic single-game record with five touchdowns, a mark he reached earlier in the season.
After eight games, Veltkamp stands as the nation's leader in completions per game (28.38) while ranking fourth in passing yards (2,536), fifth in passing touchdowns (23), and fifth in completion percentage (71.8%).
Veltkamp will next look to lead the Owls to a Thursday night victory at home against UTSA. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN. To purchase tickets, click HERE, while students can claim free tickets HERE.
