BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's soccer (10-3-2, 5-1-2) tied Tulsa (4-8-4, 3-3-2) 0-0 on Sunday. With Charlotte tying Missouri State, the Owls and the 49ers share the title of Regular Season Champions of the American Conference. It's the third regular season conference title in program history and the first since 2007.
Florida Atlantic entered the night needing to match Charlotte's result against Missouri State or better it to become the outright champions. The Owls launched 19 shot attempts at the Tulsa goal but could not find a breakthrough.
On the other end, goalkeeper
Guilherme Pipolo made three saves to record his first solo clean sheet.
The Owls will be the number two seed and receive a first-round bye in the American Conference Tournament. They will meet the winner of USF and Tulsa in the semifinals on Wednesday, November 12, at 3:30 p.m. The semis and the championship will both be hosted in Charlotte, North Carolina.
