BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University Owls captured two wins on Saturday with strong defense prevailing in game one, a 5-4 victory over North Carolina, and then scoring in the final frame to record a 4-3 win over Boston College.
The Owls move to 8-6 on the young season and will host North Carolina at 9 a.m. Sunday with Villanova and Boston College.
Sommer Baker led off the inning with a triple to dead center. The Owls go-to good luck charm made it happen again by lining a ball to shallow center. With the runner tagging on the play and the need for a good through, BC's centerfielder dropped the ball allowing Baker to slide home for the game-winning run.
