Owls Head to Conference USA Tournament

BOCA RATON, Fla. -  The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team will head to the Conference USA Tournament in Houston as the No. 5 seed. It's the fourth year in a row that the Owls have qualified for the C-USA Tournament. FAU will face No. 4 seed UTSA at 8 p.m. Eastern on Friday. The winner of that match will face the winner of North Texas/Marshall on Saturday. Four Owls earned all-conference recognition, with Sigourney Kame making the First Team, Abbi Reid and Ivone Martinez making the Second Team and Sydney Nemtuda being named to the All-Freshman Team.

Owls Swept by UTSA
The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team had its four-match winning streak snapped by UTSA in straight sets (27-25, 25-17, 25-18) on Friday. The Owls are now 15-8 on the season and 6-5 in Conference USA play.

 

Last Week: FAU (18-8, 9-5 C-USA) closed the regular season with sweeps over UAB and Charlotte. Martinez and Alex Cardona earned C-USA Setter and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.

 

History: UTSA (11-15, 9-5) has won all six previous meetings with the Owls, including a four-set win over FAU in Boca Raton earlier this season.
