We arrived back yesterday afternoon from our final matches for the season. We took on University of South Alabama on Friday and then Troy on Saturday. We flew into Mobile, Alabama on Thursday and were escorted around town by a police escort. They took us first an old Army base to check out old planes and a navy ship. It was awesome. Then we went around to downtown Mobile to check out some famous landmarks. (Thanks to Danielle Williams and her dad for all that)! The next day we took on USA. Our game started out weak against South Alabama. Our defense, both front and back row, did not perform. However, by game three we were playing well and covering the spots that we needed to. We focused more on our defense and our game fell into place. We took the third and fourth games to force a fifth. Our fifth game was plagued by unsuccessful attacking and not finishing the points we needed. We fought at the end, but South Alabama took the match in five. We headed out after the game on the road for Troy.

Our match versus Troy had some high points and low points. We attacked alright but did not put the ball down as successfully as we needed to. Our blocking started out weak but progressively got better. Our serving did not stay consistently aggressive which allowed Troy to run their offense well off of serve-receive. They took the match in three.

This season obviously did not finish how any of us wanted it to. However, this team has gone through a lot and this is by far the most talent we have ever had. We have today off for the holiday but all the girls are ready to start preparing for next season on Tuesday. We know exactly what we need to do to be a top team next year in the Sun Belt Conference. We all know that by this time next year we will not be sitting where we are now. Spring season is going to be challenging and competitive, but all the conditioning and court time is definitely going to make us a force next year. This group of girls is one of the best I've ever been a part of. I can' wait to see what the future holds for us. It's going to be great.

Thank you again to all of our fans. You made every home game exciting, even when we weren't technically in our "home" gym. We all appreciate your support and energy. We will see you next season!
