Owls Wrap Up Home Schedule with Two Pivotal Matches

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team closes out its home schedule with two key Conference USA matches, playing UTSA on Friday and UTEP on Sunday. Sunday is also Senior Day and Gabrielle Dixon and Kristi Tekavec will be recognized prior to their final home contest. This weekend will also go a long way towards determining seeding for upcoming C-USA tournament. The Owls are currently in fifth place in the conference standings, but could potentially finish as high as second.

Owls Lose to UTSA in C-USA Quarters
The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to UTSA in four sets (25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19) in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament on Friday. The Owls end the season with a 15-14 record.

Volleyball Upended by UTEP
The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to UTEP in four sets (25-19, 25-20, 14-25, 25-22) on Sunday. The loss was the third in a row for the Owls, who are now 13-13 overall and 8-4 in Conference USA matches.

 

Last Week: FAU (15-7, 6-4 C-USA) is currently on a four-match winning streak, including a pair of sweeps over FIU and Marshall last weekend.

 

History: UTSA (9-13, 7-3) has won all five previous meetings with the Owls. The Roadrunners won both encounters, the second one coming in the first round of the C-USA tournament. UTEP (5-19, 2-9) leads the all-time series 3-1.
