BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team will conclude its tournament schedule in this weekend's ASU Sheraton Invitational, hosted by Arizona State.
The Owls (2-3) will play Gonzaga and UC-Riverside in their two matches on Friday. The Bulldogs (5-4) won two of their three matches last weekend, falling to the host Rebels in the Championship Game of the UNLV Classic. UC-Riverside (3-6) went 0-3 at the Molten Classic in Berkeley, CA.
FAU will play Villanova and Arizona State on the second day of the tournament. Villanova (5-4) lost two of three matches at the Yale Invitational last weekend, but was able to sweep Brown in its final match of the tournament. The host Sun Devils (7-2) will be the Owls' final opponent of the weekend. ASU went 1-2 at last weekend's Jayhawk Invitational.
"This tournament is a chance for us to improve as team," said FAU head volleyball coach
Fernanda Nelson. "It will make us stronger and get us ready for conference play."
The Owls play Gonzaga and UC-Riverside at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. eastern, respectively on Friday. Saturday's matches against Villanova and Arizona State are also at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. eastern .
