In the 2004 preseason Atlantic Sun Conference poll, Florida Atlantic University's volleyball team is picked to finish second as voted on by the head coaches. With eight returnees, the team looks to build on a 6-4 conference and 13-16 overall record last year. First-Team All-Conference member Iana Andonova is expected to be the main threat from the middle. The junior from Margate, FL, was second on the team with 365 kills last year. After sitting out in 2003 with a knee injury, Kelly Paiva looks to have a promising season as a junior. Head coach Jody Brown enters his 10th season at the helm of the program. Under his tutelage, the program has won two A-Sun Tournament championships and has advanced to at least the semifinal round of the tournament the last eight years. The team opens the season on September 3 at the Mizuno Wildcat Classic in Davidson, NC before hosting the FAU Classic on September 10-11. 1. UCF (7) 117
