Fernanda Nelson Names Roberto Santasofia Assistant Coach
Roberto Santasofia has been named assistant volleyball coach.

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University Athletics named Roberto Santasofia as assistant coach of its indoor volleyball program.

After receiving his Bachelor in Business Administration in 2004, he earned a multitude of certifications from FIVB Volleyball Administration and USA Volleyball Impact. He also is a member of USA Volleyball, AAU Volleyball, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Santasofia made a name for himself among the NCAA Division II ranks as an assistant coach. He coached for eight seasons, including four seasons having his team ranked in the top 25, and made four NCAA Regional Tournament appearances. Santasofia coached three All-Americans, six All-Region selections and 12 All-Conference players.

He was named OVA coach of the year in 2008 and 2012. He was also served as Head Technical Coach of the BR Sports and has overseen Team BR Sports camps in Florida, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Brazil.
