In the final regular-season game of the season, Stetson University had five players post double-doubles as they defeated Florida Atlantic University in four-games Saturday afternoon, 15-30, 30-27, 33-35, 19-30. FAU finishes the regular season with a 13-16, 8-3 A-Sun record. The match did not count towards conference play.
Stetson (15-14) only used six players and saw each record double-digits digs as the Hatters out-dug the Owls 80-69. Stetson's DeeAnn Dempsey recorded a match-high 18 digs while Kari Dailey led the Owls with 15. The Hatters also posted a .263 hitting percentage compared to FAU's .103. The Owls were led by Iana Andonova, who collected 17 kills and a .256 hitting percentage. Abby Miner also posted double-digit kills (13) and collected a double-double with 11 digs.
Florida Atlantic will travel to Orlando, FL on November 22-23 for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The Owls enter as the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Troy State University, 1 p.m., Friday.
