In a four game match, Western Kentucky University (7-3) was able to use aggressive serving to take Florida Atlantic University (2-7) out of its offense and take the match 30-13, 29-31, 30-17, 30-21. Ashley Bodily (Freemont, CA) managed to get her third double-double of the season with 11 kills and 11 digs. Sara Noe dished out 60 assists for WKU.
The Hilltoppers were able to find a weakness in FAU's serve reception and caused eight reception errors and numerous free balls. This allowed WKU to run their offense and earn a team hitting percentage of .294. Florida Atlantic was able to keep the Hilltoppers in check the second game. After falling behind 20-13, the Lady Owls went on a 9-2 run behind the serving of Marja Valkeavuori. Valkeavuori lit a fire for FAU as she had one service ace, four of her12 kills and also teamed with Jessica Kahn for two blocks.
The second and third game found FAU behind once again, but they were not able to find the offense they had in game two. They finished with a team hitting percentage of .075.
