DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team swept Bethune-Cookman (25-16, 25-20, 25-20) on Wednesday.
The Owls (6-5) used an extended serving run by Jelena Jovanovic to take the first set 25-16. Brianne Wojciakowski recorded four of her six kills during the set. FAU and BCU were in a back-and-forth struggle in the early portion of the second set and was tied at 13 when the Owls went on a 6-1 run to take a 19-14 lead. The Wildcats (1-10) cut the advantage to a single point on two different occasions, but FAU won the set 25-20.
The third set was also a tug-of-war, with the final tie of the set coming at 16. At that point, Ivana Bulajic smacked down a kill and then served the Owls out to a six point lead, which helped lead to the match clinching win.
Bulajic had nine kills to lead the Owls and Jovanovic had 35 assists, seven digs and five service aces in the victory. Katarina Stepanovic hit. 500 on the night.
