Three players posted double digit kills in Florida Atlantic University's win over Coastal Carolina at the Coastal Carolina Classic in Conway, SC on Saturday afternoon 30-25, 30-18, 30-28. The team finished 2-1 in the tournament to finish second behind Clemson. The Tigers defeated the Owls (3-7) in four games earlier in the day.
Cayse Kaveny (Cupertino, CA) connected on 17 kills from Jeana Boyle, who finished with a match-high 43 assists. 12 assists went to Janelle Sarauw (St. Thomas, V.I.) who posted a career-high 20 kills in the first match of the day. Abby Miner (Largo, FL) was the final Owl to post 10 kills and added 13 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.
Katherine Jensen led the Chanticleers (4-5) with 13 kills.
Cayse Kaveny and Jeana Boyle were named to the All-Tournament Team along with Clemson's Ryane Beasley, Lori Ashton, Lindsey Abbott and CCU's Kristen Rinne.
Florida Atlantic will host Stetson University on Friday in a non-conference match at 7 pm in FAU Gymnasium. FAU faculty and staff gain admission for $3 and receive two free child tickets. Free nachos will be given out to the first 25 faculty and staff members.
