Jeana Boyle collected 67 assists in the second day of action at the FAU Radisson Classic

In the final day of play at the FAU Radisson Classic, Florida Atlantic University (2-2) dropped two matches to tough teams. Wright State (2-1) took a four-game match while Minnesota (5-1) disposed of the Owls in three. Jeana Boyle was named to the All-Tournament Team for FAU after posting 125 assists and leading the team with 40 digs.
In the first match of the day against Wright State, the Lady Owls took game two of the four-game match with five service aces, including two from Danyielle Smith and Abby Miner. Danyielle Smith posted back-to-back aces and gave FAU a four point swing to put the Owls up 7-5. Jessica Kahn collected six of her team-high 14 kills in the second game. Kahn (Apopka, FL) finished the game with a .560 hitting percentage. Iana Andonova, a middle hitter from Margate, FL finished the match with 13 kills.
Jeana Boyle led the Owls defensively with 16 digs and also with 43 assists. What hurt FAU was its five ball handling errors. .
Wright State had four hitters post double-digit kills and finished with a team hitting percentage of .344 compared to FAU's .235.
In the nightcap against a team that received votes in the preseason AVCA poll, FAU managed a .052 hitting percentage compared to the Golden Gopher's .410. The speed of the Minnesota quick attack was too much for FAU as Cassie Busse collected a match-high 14 kills. Busse was named the Tournament MVP.
Named to the All-Tournament Team were Youngstown State's Lori Lyman, Sarah Ensminger from N.C. State, Karis Day from Wright State, Lindsey Vander Well and Cassie Busse from Minnesota, and FAU's Jeana Boyle.
FAU will remain at home on Monday when they host Eastern Washington at 7 pm.
