TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Florida Atlantic sand volleyball lost both of its matches at the Florida State Invitational on Saturday.

The Owls lost to the host Seminoles 5-0 in their first match. Joanne Marras Tate and Alessia Pizzoccheri were competitive on the no. 1 court, as were Grace Vega and Darija Sataric at no. 2, but neither tandem could come away with the victory. Marras Tate and Chandler Hatton both had 14 kills in their respective matches.

Marras Tate and Pizzoccheri won their match at no. 1 versus UAB in straight sets and Isabelle Arboleda and Sara Stoll outlasted the UAB pair to with their match at no.3 in three sets. However, FAU could not pull off the match clinching win. Vega and Sataric pushed their match to a third set at no. 2, but couldn't come away with the win.

Pizzoccheri and Marras Tate will move on to the National Sand Volleyball Championships on April 27-29 in Gulf Shores, AL.
