BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic sand volleyball team lost its dual match to Florida Gulf Coast 3-2 on Wednesday.

Joanne Marras Tate and Alessia Pizzocheri won their match at no. 1 in straight sets (21-14, 21-14) over Holly Youngquist and Kaitlin Holm. Grace Vega and Darija Sataric lost to Karina Sambuca and Olivia Mesner 21-17 and 21-19 at no. 2.

FAU fell behind 2-1 when the no. 3 pairing of Isabelle Arboleda and Sara Stoll lost to Brooke Kohler and Brittany Muse (21-14, 21-14). The Owls' no. 4 squad of Lauren Jones and Chandler Hatton won in three sets (21-15, 16-21, 15-13) to tie the match at 2.

Thacilli Pereira and Cintia Nightingale fought hard, but lost in straight sets (21-16, 21-19) in the decisive match.

FAU will face Webber International in a dual match on Thursday night.
