Casey LaRocca returned to Florida Atlantic University in the spring of 2011 as an assistant coach, the same school where set numerous school records as a player.
LaRocca was an all-conference setter during her four years at Florida Atlantic (2005-08) and helped the Owls to the 2005 NCAA Tournament. She still holds the school record for assists in a season (1,396) and career assists (4,214).
After finishing her playing career at FAU, LaRocca was a graduate assistant and interim head coach at Lehigh, where she helped the Mountain Hawks to 14 wins in her first season, after they had just 13 in the three seasons prior to her arrival. In 2010, Lehigh went 13-13, its first record of .500 or better in seven years. She also earned her masters' degree in Environmental Policy Design.
LaRocca will run day-to-day operations for the program, oversee recruiting and help coordinate the offense, specifically the setters.
"As a former FAU player, Casey truly loves the school and that is a huge asset to the program," said FAU head volleyball coach Jody Brown.
