BOCA RATON, Fla. – Eleven home events and eight fall tournaments highlight the 2017-18 Florida Atlantic University women’s tennis schedule, as announced by the FAU athletics department on Friday.
"I am looking forward to playing against some of the best players and teams in the country this season,” Hora-Cava said. "We don't travel too much in the spring because so many schools enjoy traveling to south Florida for the weather. We have some great competition ahead of us and I'm sure all the ladies are looking forward to getting back into the routine of class and practicing."
The Owls will travel across California, Florida, Georgia and Wisconsin for fall tournaments, beginning with the Milwaukee Classic on Sept. 20 and ending at the National Fall Championships at Indian Wells, Calif. in November.
After kicking off the spring with three road matches, the Owls will host the Owl Cup Hidden Dual at the FAU Tennis Complex, Jan. 19-22, featuring Georgia Southern, Stony Brook and Miami (Ohio). FAU rounds out January with home matches against FGCU and Stetson on Jan. 24 and 27, respectively.
February marks a road month for the Owls as they travel to Madison, Wis. for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships before facing Florida A&M, Florida State, North Florida and Miami on the road. Beginning March 3 against LA Tech, FAU enjoys a stretch of eight consecutive home matches, hosting the likes of Syracuse, Richmond and South Carolina among others.
The Owls round out the regular season at FIU on April 15 before traveling to Norfolk, Va. for the Conference USA Championship Tournament April 19-22.
