BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women’s tennis head coach Marcy Hora-Cava has signed Natalia Boltinskaya to join the Owls as a freshman for the 2017-18 campaign.
"Natalia is a fantastic tennis player, but she will bring much more than just tennis and great results," Hora-Cava said. "Natalia is the individual that you come across once in a while that is mature and has not only a set of tennis goals, but personal goals that she wants to achieve and I'm excited to watch her grow and attain all of those."
Boltinskaya, a native of Moscow, Russia, boasts 53 singles wins and 50 doubles victories on the ITF circuit and has been ranked as high as No. 174. In Tennis Europe competition, Boltinskaya owns a singles mark of 122-53 and is 82-34 in doubles action and is ranked No. 23. Her best career ranking came in 2014 when she was ranked No. 8 in the U14 group.
“Natalia is honest, confident, humble and ambitious all at the same time,” Hora-Cava said. “These traits are things that I look for when I'm recruiting and I commend not only her family but her current coaches for setting such a great example. Natalia is the whole package and I'm proud to say she is joining our Owl family this fall."
Boltinskaya, who speaks English, Russian and Croatian, plans on studying business with an emphasis in tourism at FAU.
