Junior Marlene Ryan went 10-2 this season to lead the Owls

Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team seeks its second straight winning season while competing for top team honors in this week's Sun Belt Conference Championships, beginning Thursday, April 19, in Denton, Texas.

FAU begins the tournament against Arkansas State University.

The Owls bring a 9-8 record into the tournament. The team posted a 6-3 record within the challenging Southeast region and won six home matches this spring.

Junior Marlene Ryan leads the squad with a 10-2 singles record, including a 6-1 mark at the No. 2 singles. She had her a 10-match winning streak snapped in the final match of the regular season.

Senior Justine Humair had a 9-8 record at No. 1 singles after defeating opponents from FIU and Denver late in the season. Freshman Catalina Ene went 10-4 this spring.
