BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women’s tennis team ranked No. 15 in the Tennis Recruiting Network’s Top-25 Mid-Major Women's Recruiting Classes for 2013. Kandis Legall, Lyndsey Boos, Alexa Ricci, and Bianca Biglione, all current freshmen helped improve Florida Atlantic’s ranking.
All four freshmen are in-state recruits from the state of Florida. Legall from Palm Coast, FL was a four star recruit and ranked in Florida’s top-15. Boos from Orlando, FL also was a four star recruit and ranked in Florida’s top-25. Ricci from Longwood, FL helped lead her high school team to a state championship in doubles in 2013 and was ranked in the top-30 in the state of Florida. Biglione from Panama City Beach, FL was ranked in the top-25 in the state of Florida and was voted Most Valuable Player for her high school team four-consecutive years.
These rankings include players who are freshmen during the 2013-14 school year and looked at recruiting classes in over 20 conferences. Conference USA topped the list with six programs ranked in the top-25. Marshall, ranked No. 6, was the highest ranking C-USA school followed by UAB at No. 12, Louisiana Tech at No. 14, Florida Atlantic at No. 15, Rice at No. 17, and East Carolina at No. 23.
Florida Atlantic women’s tennis begins their spring schedule this weekend Jan. 18-21, 2014 at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational in Ft. Myers, FL.
