FAU Women's Tennis Competes at GSU Invitational

Boca Raton, Fla - The Florida Atlantic University women’s tennis team competed in the Georgia Southern Invitational, in Statesboro, GA Oct. 25 - 27.  The tournament took place on the campus of Georgia Southern University and included competitors from nine schools.

            Freshman Kandi Legall, Bianca Biglione, Lyndsey Boos, and senior Stephanie Cardullo won matches in Friday’s first round.  Legall faced Michelle Satterfield of Emory and won 4-6, 6-2, and 10-5 in three sets. Biglione faced Isabela Castro of Kennesaw State and won in two sets 6-2, and 6-4. Cardullo downed  Mareli Sanchez of Wofford 6-3 and 6-4.

            Lyndsey Boos was the only FAU player to win both first and second round matches on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, she faced off against Catherine Martin of Wofford winning 6-3, and 6-4. In the second round, Boos defeated Carolina Meregalli in three sets.

            Juiors Catalina Ene, Natalia Tomaszewicz, Taylor Briggs, sophomore Claire-Mitchell Andrews, and freshman Maria Suger also competed in Statesboro.


 

 

            The tournament concluded the fall season for women’s tennis. They will next take the court January, 19 at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers FL.
