Women's Tennis Whitewashed In Miami

Coral Gables, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team came away empty-handed after Friday's opening day of the University of Miami Fall Classic in Coral Gables.

The Owls took on Florida International in doubles and UM in singles in the hidden dual format, where no team score is allotted and wins only count for individual records.

On the doubles side, Alena Dvorakova and Krystel Borg fell to Desanka Jovanovic and Egle Petrauskaite 8-3 while the team of Katherine Bartnik and Pia Terol lost 8-1 to Paula Zabala and Shilla D'Armas.

The singles matches against UM were also a clean sweep as Dvorakova fell to Megan Bradley 6-4, 6-1, Borg lost 6-1, 6-0 to Stacy Stevens, and Bartnik was defeated 6-1, 6-0 by Emily Mowery.

Play continues Saturday as the Owls will team up with the Florida Gators to take on UM in doubles and FIU in singles play.
