DENTON, Texas – The Florida Atlantic University women’s tennis season came to a close as the 11th-seeded Owls fell 4-2 to sixth-seeded WKU in the opening round of the Conference USA Tournament on Thursday.

• Fabrizi quickly tied the match as she earned a 6-4, 7-6 win against Elpida Malamou in the No. 1 spot
• Gutierrez looked to put the Owls on top, but fell in her 2-6, 6-3, 3-6 battle against Andreanna Christopoulou in No. 3 singles
• Boos, competing in No. 2 singles, salvaged a set but WKU clinched the match as Monica Malinen won the match 6-4, 2-6, 6-1
• FAU senior Bianca Biglione led her match 6-4, 5-6 when play drew to a close
• FAU finishes the season with an 11-11 mark
