Women's Tennis Ends Season with Loss to ULM

Lafayette, La. - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team ended its 2013 campaign with a 4-0 loss to ULM in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Thursday, April 18 in Lafayette, La.

The Warhawks (15-3), the tournament's No. 7 seed, quickly won the doubles point. ULM was victorious 8-1 on the second doubles court before an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles clinched the point.

In singles, senior Marlene Ryan dropped a straight-set match (6-1, 6-3) at No. 1 singles. Fellow senior Natasha Phillips fell 6-2, 6-3 on the sixth singles court, before a ULM win at No. 3 singles over senior Natasha Basma clinched the Warhawks' victory.

FAU ended the season with an 8-10 record. The match concluded the careers of seniors Basma, Phillips and Ryan.
