Boca Raton, FL - Winning four of the six singles courts fueled the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over Cleveland State University in a hard-fought match on Wednesday at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton.

The Owls improve to 8-4 on the season and have won consecutive matches after defeating the University of Albany 6-1 on March 13.

FAU took an early lead with victories by junior Marlene Ryan and freshman Catalina Ene at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Ryan picked up a straight-set 6-1, 6-4 win, while Ene came out on top in a three-set match, winning the deciding third set by a commanding 6-0 score.

Junior Natasha Basma was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 3 singles, and senior Justine Humair clinched the team victory with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph at No. 1 singles.

The Owls return to the court on Tuesday, March 20, at 2 p.m. against Towson at Patch Reef Park, 2000 West Yamato Road in Boca Raton.
