BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University came into its match with no. 41 Virginia on a roll, winning its last five games. Monday night that streak came to an end as no. 72 FAU fell, 5-2, to the Cavaliers. The Lady Owls trailed early, 3-0, before making a late rally to pull within 3-2.

One streak did continue. Alena Dvorakova extended her winning streak to eight matches when she picked up FAU's first singles victory of the match. The sophomore breezed by Jennifer Tuchband, 6-1, 6-3, at no. 1.

Karolina Roubickova was the second Lady Owl to register a win. Roubickova came back down one set to defeat Loris Stern, 4-6, 7-5, 2-1 (retired).

FAU was denied a comeback when Virginia bounced back to win the last two matches.

The Lady Owls next host no. 74 Boston College at 11:00 am.
