Boca Raton, Fla – Florida Atlantic women’s tennis looked poised to win its second match of the season, before being defeated by Youngstown State 4-3 on Thursday. FAU won the doubles point early, but was unable to hold on to the match dropping 4 of 6 singles matches.
FAU junior Taylor Briggs and FAU freshman Kandis Legall defeated Dominika Lackova and Annina Brendel 8-3, and FAU junior Catalina Ene and FAU freshman Lyndsey Boos defeated Nehel Sahni and Carolyn Jesko 8-1, to win the doubles point.
In singles FAU freshman Kandis Legall defeated Margarita Sadovnikova 6-4, 6-3 in the one position. FAU sophomore Claire-Mitchell Andrews defeated Gimena Puppo in the 6-2, 6-2 in the six position. Youngstown state won four singles matchups with Nehel Sahni defeating FAU freshman Bianca Biglione in a tough three set match 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.
FAU is back on the court Friday looking to bounce back against Stetson at 1 p.m. in Boca Raton.
