Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 match to South Florida opponent Florida Gulf Coast University on Saturday afternoon at Patch Reef Park. The loss dropped the Owls to 0-3 on the season.

FAU picked up singles victories in the No. 2 and No. 6 matches. Sophomore Catalina Ene picked up a 6-3, 6-4 victory over FGCU's Gyanna Mandic. Then, senior Natasha Phillips earned a hard-fought, three-set victory. Phillips won the opening set in a tiebreaker, 7-3, and came back to win the deciding third set in a tiebreaker, 10-2.

The Owls return to the court on Friday, February 15 at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach. The team will also battle Florida A&M University on Saturday, February 16 and Hampton University on Sunday, February 17 while visiting Daytona Beach.
