Sophomore Natalia Tomaszewicz lost a hard-fought three set singles match to UCF on Saturday

Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team fell to 0-2 on the spring dual match season with a 7-0 loss to UCF on Saturday, February 2 at Patch Reef Park.

Sophomores Catalina Ene and Natalia Tomaszewicz dropped hard-fought three-set matches for the Owls.

Ene forced a third set in the No. 2 singles match with a 6-1 triumph in the second set. However, UCF's Jenna Doerfler responded to win the deciding set by a 6-3 score.

Tomaszewicz split the first two sets by 6-4 scores before UCF's Courtney Griffith pulled out a 10-8 tiebreaker in the third set in the No. 4 singles match.

FAU returns to the court on Saturday, February 9 at noon when it hosts Florida Gulf Coast University at Patch Reef Park, 1200 Yamato Road in Boca Raton.
