BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team battled against San Jose State on Sunday, but fell 4-3 in its first match at the FAU Tennis Complex.

• FAU came out strong to win the doubles point
Alisa Rudenko teamed up with Lyndsey Boos to take the first doubles match 6-3 over the No. 41-ranked duo of Tamara Culibrk and Miyo Kobayashi.
Laura Fabrizi and Ana Gutierrez followed suit with a 6-3 win to snag the doubles point
• Boos continued the hot hand, earning a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 singles win over SJSU's Tamara Culibrk
Marisa Ruiz also took her singles match 7-5, 6-7, 10-7 over Gaelle Rey
• Gutierrez won her first set before SJSU's Marie Klocker came back to take the match 5-7, 6-2, 6-0
• Freshman Naiya Oden battled in the tightest matchup of the day, but fell 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4) to Marine Dans

Up Next: 
FAU remains home to host Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 5 and Florida A&M on Feb. 11. Both matches will be held at the FAU Tennis Complex on the Boca Raton Campus.
