Caroline Hora enters her third year as the head coach of the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis program. She brings to FAU a wealth of experience both as a coach and as a player.
Under Hora's guidance, the women's team has improved every year and is poised for greater accomplishments. All eight players from last year's 14-7 squad return along with freshman addition Stephanie Oldock.
In Hora's two seasons as head coach the team has posted an overall record of 27-18. In her first year at FAU, Hora helped lead the team to its most successful season since moving to Division I in 1994. The season culminated in a dramatic run through the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship that ended in a one-point loss in the title match.
In 2001-02, Hora led the team to its first ever national ranking. Two Lady Owls achieved a top-100 national ranking. Under Hora, FAU also carried the highest GPA of all Owls' athletic teams in 2001-02, with six players earning A-Sun All-Academic honors.
Hora graduated from the University of Miami where she helped lead the nationally-ranked Hurricanes. She advanced to two NCAA tournaments and was ranked as high as 24 in singles and 17 in doubles. Her many acievements at Miami inlcuded the team's mostvaluable player award, the Coach's Award, Doris Hart Award, and the Big East Player-of-the-Year award.
After graduation, Hora played in professional tounaments in Europe and the U.S. However, shoulder surgery forced Hora to pursue the administrative side of tennis which has included working at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, Orbit Sports Marketing, Tennis Club Schwarzenburg, and managing the prestiguoius Meadow Club of Southhampton.
