Then, he won the 200-yard backstroke event (1:53.88) in a meet against the University of Denver and the University of Cincinnati on December 19. His victory in the freestyle competition was in come from behind fashion. Pek also posted three runner-up finishes and had a third-place showing.
Sterman, a freshman diver from Plantation, Fla., posted consistent scores in the 1- and 3- meter diving competitions in a dual meet against Denver and Cincinnati on December 19. She tallied 232.80 points to finish third on the 1-meter diving board and placed sixth in the 3-meter event with 232.10 points. Sterman earlier had scored 209.50 points from the judges in the 1-meter diving event against Clemson, Northwestern University, Florida International University and Findlay on December 18.
