Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swimming teams will open their home seasons in competition against Florida Gulf Coast University and Princeton University on Saturday, October 29, beginning at 1 p.m. The meet will take place at the FAU Aquatic Center, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.

The Owls will be competing for the second time this fall after having a strong showing in last month's All Florida Invitational. The men's team placed third, while the women finished in fifth place. Two freshmen set school records in their first collegiate competitions: Annet Kovacs, in the 200-yard butterfly, with a time of 2:02.41; and Iwona Lefanowicz, in the 200-yard backstroke, in 2:02.18.

Other key members of the women's team include junior Eszter Bucz, seniors Jonna Nyback and Erin Hersey, and sophomores Anastasia Ivanova and Alexandra Gonzalez.

The men's team is led by senior Mikolaj Czarnecki, in the butterfly and distance freestyle events, senior Csaba Pek, in breaststroke and individual medley races; junior Eric Williams, in the sprint freestyle events; and junior Alan Forbes, a strong competitor in several events.
