BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University sand volleyball team recently volunteered to help others in need in the local community. The Owls participated in an event at Boca Helping Hands on Friday. Boca Helping Hands is a non-profit organization that offers meals to the underprivileged in South Florida. The team prepared and served meals that were delivered to homebound individuals who were disabled or elderly.
"Volunteering with (Boca) Helping Hands was a wonderful opportunity for the team to help the local community by sorting food donations and preparing grocery bags for people in need," said Brooke Kohler, FAU sand volleyball head coach. "This organization provides food to more than a hundred people a day and we were happy to be a part of it."
