BOCA RATON, Fla. Delaney Clesen and Gabrielle Dischler are the first Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball players to earn post-season honors as the duo were named  Honorable Mention All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Last fall, Clesen and Dischler advanced to the Gold bracket finals at the Queen of the Beach Tournament. The pair was FAU’s winningest tandem in the spring, ending the year with 18 dual match victories, including their first nine of the season.

Among their wins were victories over nationally ranked opponents Georgia State and Stetson.

“Delaney and Gabrielle came to practice to get better every day,” said Capri Grotowski, FAU head beach volleyball coach. “They got very comfortable with being uncomfortable and I think this is just the beginning. They are proof that hard work pays off. It was a pleasure and honor getting to work with them. I'm very proud of those two.”

The pair were one of just two teams to be named Honorable Mention.
