Kinlaw and Morris Advance to Day Two of National Pairs Championships

HERMOSA BEACH, Calif.   Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball players Jessalyn Kinlaw and Mackenzie Morris won their pool at the USA Volleyball (USAV) Collegiate Beach Championships and advanced to the event’s second day.

Kinlaw and Morris defeated Sunny Villapando and Amelia Smith of Stanford by matching 21-18 scores in their first match of the day. Aeriel Horton and Jessica Wooten of Houston Baptist were the opponents in match number two. The FAU duo was even more impressive in the second match, winning 21-16, 21-18.

Carly Scarbrough and Brittany Pellitteri took a set off of Alexia Inman and Mima Mirkovic of Cal 21-13, but were unable to hold off their rally, falling 21-17 in the second set and 15-11 in the third. The duo lost to Maddy Kline and Nicole Lott of UNC-Wilmington 21-19, 21-17 in their second match.

Kinlaw and Morris will begin play at 3 p.m. Eastern on Friday, May 11.
