JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Florida Atlantic University sand volleyball team opened its 2013 campaign at the UNF Sand Invitational over the weekend.

Megan Knapp and Alisha Noble had the best weekend as a tandem for FAU, winning two of their three matches in pool play and advancing to the championship match of the White flight. They also won the decisive match in the Owls' 3-2 win over Jacksonville, with Darija Sataric and Gabriella Pyle and Danielle Lefebvre and Andrea Galinis winning their matches at nos. 3 and 4 respectively.

Sataric and Pyle advanced to the semifinals of the Grey flight, as did Alessia Pizzoccheri and Jelena Jovanovic in the Blue flight.

The team will travel to Deland, FL for a dual match against Stetson on Tuesday, March 26.
