BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University softball team will wrap up its regular season with a set of home and home games against rival FIU. The Panthers won the first meeting between the two teams 11-8 on April 17.

The Owls (25-27, 8-12 Sun Belt) were swept by Louisiana-Lafayette in their last series. FAU enters the weekend as the no. 6 seed for the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament. However, the Owls could overtake FIU for the fifth seed with a sweep of the Panthers. If FAU were to lose both games, Troy could pass the Owls for the sixth seed with a sweep of its doubleheader with South Alabama.

A hot offensive start by the Florida Atlantic University softball team could not withstand a sloppy defensive effort as the Owls lost to FIU 11-8 on Wednesday night.

Friday's game will be down in Miami, before the two teams play in Boca Raton on Saturday. Saturday's game will be the regular season finale for both teams and Senior Night for the three FAU seniors (Stephanie Call, Taylor Fawbush and Diandra Fernandez) who will be playing their final home game.

Both games begin at 6 p.m. and live stats will be available for both games at www.fausports.com.
