The Florida Atlantic University softball team will face-off against local Marines in a second annual charity softball game on Sunday, April 21 at 6 p.m., at the FAU softball complex, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. FAU won the 2012 inaugural game by a score of 4-3.

The event will be held in an effort to raise awareness and support the Semper Fi Fund's local injured service members and their families, as well as the local "Marine Birthday Ball" committee.

Tickets are $5 per person for the general public and $3 for FAU students. The game also will be used to raise awareness for Veteran Owls, an on-campus organization that helps FAU students that have served in the armed forces adjust to campus life. Proceeds and donations from the game will benefit Semper Fi Fund.

For more information, contact Chan Walker, FAU assistant softball coach at 561-251-5000 or cwalke18@fau.edu, Frank D'Amato, event organizer and Semper Fi supporter, at 561-542-0333, or Marine 1st Sgt. Jonathan W. Clark or Corporal Vopel at 561-683-4443.
