TROY, Ala. - The Florida Atlantic softball team lost to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette 15-0 at the Sun Belt tournament on Friday.
The Owls fell behind early, with the Ragin' Cajuns scored four runs in the first inning, followed by three in both the second and third innings. A five-run fourth inning by ULL accounted for the final margin of victory.
Alison Milam and Whitley Herb had back-to-back singles in the fifth inning, and Lindsey Shell walked to load the bases for FAU, but a grounder to third ended the game. Shelby Knox and Melissa Martinez had the other two Owl hits.
FAU ends its season with a record of 28-29, but is expected to return eight regular starters for the 2014 season, its first in Conference USA.
