MONROE, LA - The Florida Atlantic softball team lost a doubleheader to ULM on Tuesday, losing 8-3 and 4-3 in the two games.
The Warhawks (23-21, 8-12 Sun Belt) drew first blood in the bottom of the third inning of game one, when an Owl throwing error allowed a run to score and give ULM a 1-0 lead. Three hits and a ULM error helped the Owls (13-34, 3-15) score two runs in the top of the fourth and take a 2-1 lead. ULM broke through with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to retake the lead, 5-2. FAU scored a run in the top of the fifth inning and ULM scored three in the home half of the sixth to supply the final score.
Alexa Ballard had her second RBI single of the day in the third inning to put the Owls up 1-0 in game two. Jordan Stovall hit fourth homerun of the season to stretch the lead to 3-0 FAU in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh, the Warhawks tied the score with four hits and an Owl error to send the game to extra innings. After FAU went down in order, Haley McCall hit a one-out double to right before another FAU error allowed her to come around to score the game winning run. Stephanie Call pitched four scoreless innings in her first appearance in the circle since early in the year.
