Florida Atlantic University was held scoreless through 12 innings by Georgia State University which allowed the Panthers to take game one 2-0, however, with two outs in the bottom of the sixth the Owls bats came alive with six runs for the second game's final 6-0. With the split, FAU moves to 51-8 and 14-2 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

Heather Wright got a one-out rally started with a bunt single and took second on an overthrow. Nikki Myers, was intentionally walked. With two outs, Callie Piper hit an RBI single. Ginny Matthew followed with a walk. Third baseman, Jennifer Piazza then hit a two run single, followed by an Amy Bellisari and a Michelle Shirah two-run double to end the scoring.

Nikki Myers pitched seven complete innings to improve her record to 29-4. She retired 11 by strikeout and earned her 15 shutout of the season. Myers remains perfect in conference play.

The first game saw Ninya Ybarra lead the team with two hits, including a double, while Wright, Pam Mazzarella and Ginny Matthews earned singles.

Candice Freel pitched a complete game and allowed just three hits. The freshman hurler gave up a hit in the first, a double in the fourth followed by a homer. She struck out five and walked two. Freel's record moves to 22-4.

FAU will next play host to Florida International, 2 pm, Sunday. It is a single game.
