BOCA RATON, FL - Rhianna Rogers and Nikki Myers both homered as Florida Atlantic University, ranked no. 11 in the nation, defeated no. 14 Iowa, 4-2, Sunday in Boca Raton. The win improves FAU to 38-6 on the year and clinched the championship at the 2002 FAU "Parents' Weekend" Invitational.

Callie Piper got FAU on the board in the first with a two-out single that scored Heather Wright. An RBI-double by Iowa's Jessica Bashor in the second tied the score at 1-1 before the Lady Owls went to the long ball.

Rogers led off the fourth with a solo shot to left field for her first homer of the season the put FAU on top 2-1. Myers followed in the fifth with a two-run blast to left to give the Lady Owls a 4-1 lead.. It was Myers' sixth homer of the year and second in as many days.

Myers went the distance, allowing two runs on four hits. She struck out nine while improving to 21-4 on the year.

Florida Atlantic next faces Central Florida March 29 in a 6:00pm doubleheader.
