BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - (March 19, 2017) – Florida Atlantic University head softball coach Joan Joyce collected her 900th career win with a 4-1 victory over WKU on Sunday. The win also completed a series sweep of the Hilltoppers. FAU improved to 20-10 overall and 3-0 in Conference USA play.
Emily Lochten drove in the first run of the game when her single scored Carolyn Rosa. Two Owl hits and two WKU (18-13, 3-3) errors allowed three more runs to score in the top of the fifth. The only Hilltopper run of the came on Taylor Proctor’s solo homerun in the seventh inning.
- Tatum Buckley continued her string of excellent pitching performances, tossing a complete game three-hitter and adding six strikeouts.
- Delaney Rickey and Emily Lochten both went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Lochten added an RBI.
- Mia Olson drew two walks and scored a run.
