MIAMI, FL - Candice Freel threw a two-hit shutout to lead Florida Atlantic University past Florida International University, 3-0, Tuesday night in Miami, FL. She struck out a season-high 11 batters and allowed just two walks on her way to her third shutout of the year.

The game was scoreless heading to the seventh when Jenn Piazza led off with a solo homer to left field to put FAU in front 1-0. The home run was Piazza's second of the season.
