TAMPA, FL - Florida Atlantic University improved to 4-0 with two victories over host and no. 25 ranked University of South Florida, Saturday. FAU prevailed 9-3 in the first game and 5-2 in the second.
After defeating Tennessee, late Friday, the Lady Owls returned to the field Saturday with hot bats. The first six FAU hitters had base hits including a three run homer by pitcher Nicole Myers.
Heather Wright, who is from Tampa, broke open the second game with a two-run triple. Myers improved to 2-0 and freshman Candice Freel also improved to 2-0.
FAU will play in the championship game, Sunday, at a time to be determined and will face either Northwestern or Tennessee, both teams defeated by FAU on Friday.
